Has anyone replaced the down lighting that is under each side light on the 08 F-150 (may be on other models too)? I have an 08 Limited and really want a white light there instead of the yellowish color light there now.

I popped them out and they have 2 leads that go to the lighting housing but I couldn't figure out how to open up the lighting enclosure without breaking it.

That's a great question... I would love to change them. I'm going to play around with it tonight.. I hope someone has done this already and could save us time and money to replace them after we break it lol.

take a pic and send it to me I'd like to see if it's like the on in the 07 expedition mirrors I bought to put on my 08 Screw. here's a pic of mine. the clear lens needs to come off, then reglued !! they make it like that cause the LED's don't go out that often, so no need to get in there and change the LED's they change the whole assy cause it just plugs in.

that is almost exactly how they look. If I remember though the heatshrink on the connectors is black. Did you replace them with a LED or is there already one there? If so what style is it so that I can get a replacement in white.

This is just the way I got them. I haven't even tried to get them hooked up yet. Youll have to pop off the clear lens, and look in there. when your in there snap me a pic and post it, I'll go from there. most likely a plcc2 or smd.

I replaced my side mirror lights a year ago... On the bottom theres a clip you push in to pull the light down and out then take off the two wires. Now the light housing itself is sealed. I used a razor to open it up, replaced light bulb with an LED and glued it back together. I have one bad picture here hope it helps.

New to the forum. Just bought a 2013 f150 xtr yesterday.

Wondering if anyone knows if you can add these courtesy lights under the mirror if you do not already have them? (anyone make an led kit or anything?)

Under my mirrors there is a knockout or template of where the lights should be - but they are simply not on these mirrors. Anyone??......
