Default Aftermarket Remote Start Issue

Went to start my truck last night and it was dead after driving it earlier in the day with no issues. Battery is a few months old and after charging it and checking what I could with voltmeter, battery and alt seem ok. I know it needs a load test etc to be accurate. I have an aftermarket remote and I think alarm combo from Valet (came with truck) and no paperwork. It has ghost started on me a few times meaning I go out to the truck and its running with me being nowhere near the remote and on a few occasions after disc the neg battery cable it has started when I reconnect the neg cable it starts immediately and scares the heck out of me. Now its acting really weird. When I start the truck, all of my dash lights are pulsing and my radio screen with an audible clicking noise almost like its in alarm mode or something. I can stop it when I hit the unlock button on the remote but it does it everytime I restart the truck. I'm wondering if that's what may have killed my battery so I disc the battery again. Any remote gurus out there can tell me if this thing is shot. I wanted to disc it a while back but its a menagerie of wires and tape and connectors and some tiny bulb with a small button splicing off of it. Sometimes this bulb is on and sometimes not. I'm afraid I will touch something I'm not supposed to. Shoud I just take it to a professional to have it removed? I just think the cons out weigh the pros on this thing. Thanks
