Default Removing Pinstripe

So I have a black 2005, it has a faded like gray colored pinstripe down the side, I've been wanting to remove it for quite some time now but don't know the best way of going about it. Any recommendations? Also, I'm nervous about removing it and it being a darker color than the rest of the truck because of the painting fading over time. Is this a issue you think?

The 3M eraser wheel, been using them for years with no paint damage.

Heat gun or hair dryer. If there is residue on the paint, use some 3M adhesive remover to clean up.

You are correct in being concerned about the paint color fade; I too suspect the paint under that pinstripe is going to be slightly darker then the paint around it. Black is a tough color for this.

Stripe wheel would be best for less hassle. The hair dryer will work too, but since your truck is black some sitting in direct sunlight should do the job. An adhesive remover for any glue left behind.

Is there anyway you blend the colors you guys think? Because if there's no way, I'm not gonna do it. I don't really want to have a darker stripe down the side of my truck lol..

I removed mine not long after I got it... Eraser wheel to pull the stripes, then some rubbing alcohol to remove the glue residue and follow up with a polish to make the paint match.

Not really. Gonna take somebody that can sand it down and polish it out, but it's not that easy with black. Best to just leave it be if you're not going to restripe it.
