removing head light cone?

Default removing head light cone?

has anyone done this removing the little cone inside the headlights? just put in hid think it might restrict some of the light output? relise it is to refect it back to chrome wich reflects it out just couroius before i try if anyone else has and if it is worth it

This has been brought up in previous HID posts, but I think that having it there is going to actually improve the performance in comparison to removing it. As of now, with it in the light is at least reflecting out in a clear pattern, without the cone it would literally just scatter. You would be shining light everywhere, not just onto the road. So taking it out would remove the pattern, and you would blind everyone.

That is a really bad idea.. light output would be all over the place.. plus you would be blinding anyone that was coming towards you.. You would last ..hmm.. about 15 minutes on the road before a cop pulled you over..

The light output from the HID's is great on the 150.. It basically depends on the color choice you got.. If you got the 10K or higher its nice looking but light emitting restrictions.. If you got a CHEAP brand.. let me just say you get what you pay for.. 6K is a basic light color but is so much brighter.. 8K is pure white and perfect. If you level your truck it looks so much better and you see so much more

DONT DO IT!! i did it on my motorcycle and it totally ruined the light pattern, and it got destroyed on the way out to i had to buy a whole headlight assembly.

got 8k and 55w light output is great just was wondering as i installed them thats all thanks for all the help
