Default Removing Fuel Rail on 2008 4.6L to Replace Spark Plugs

Someone please help me! I've looked high and low and I cant for the freaking life of me find a write up on removing the COP's on a truck like mine!

I have a 2008 F-150 4.6L with a bad COP. The fuel rail is in the way on both sides. I hear lots of talk about how you don't have to move the fuel rail but no pictures or videos. Just talk.

Does anybody, ANYBODY know where I can find some clear directions on how to do this? And yes, I have used the search function. I'm at the end of my wits here! :h elp:

You shouldn't have to remove the fuel rail, I have done 2 of these, both 4 sixes and never pulled the rail. You should be able to access all bolts with a swivel and extensions.

Well I went ahead and did it. Replaced all COP's and spark plugs without moving the fuel rails. A 1/4 inch universal joint was critical in not having to remove the fuel rail. I did use cheap ebay chinese COP's. We'll see how they hold up.

Good luck, those cheap coils are hit and miss. Sometimes you get lucky

Plugs and coils,I have 07 4.6l on f150 and its same as 08 99% sure you can get em all out just a little tight in some spots
only had to remove couple things . Air cleaner makes life easier . And power steering top price of mounting bracket. Only one that gave me problem was passenger side at firewall. Only cuz hard to see and plug sleeve full of garbage but all can be done without taking off fuel rails . Hope this answers questions. PatienCe is key. Good luck

Just a 4 years later update. I used a small universal joint extension for a socket wrench to remove the COP's.
