Removing the Cats

Removing the Cats
I have a 2005 Triton 4.6l V8, with a true dual exhaust and Flowmaster super 10s. But I still want it louder, and my friend has a Vortec 5.3l with no cats and straight pipes, and it is one of the loudest trucks I've ever heard. Does anyone know if removing, or hollowing out, the cats will mess with my mufflers/engine. If anyone knows please help me out.

Help you make it offensive - no!
Extreme noise does not make the vehicle better, faster or anything else.
Be reasonable - a mellow sound is OK and much better.

I don't know how you guys do it where you're from, but in Montana we like things loud and proud, around here, there's no such thing as offensive.

I hope you remember that statement in about 15 years when you've come home after a hard days work (when you are actually fully supporting yourself by means of your own labor) to your mortgaged home, wife and children. You've just settled down, the kids are going to sleep, and some jackass goes blasting by with his gutted out exhaust system. Offensive just barely starts to describe it. I don't mind a nice rumble, or a modest turbo whine (diesel), but a gutted/straight piped system cackles and drones and generally sounds like shidt. --- Thats as close as I could get without getting the word X'ed out.
