Default removing blocks between leaf springs and axle

Just a quick question for those that have removed the factory blocks between the leaf springs and rear axle, to help level the truck. I have an 04 FX4 and just removed mine, and I was wondering if I should replace the rear shocks with a different size , since it's now about 2 inches lower in the rear? And btw, this was a great idea to level my truck for free! I always look here in this forum for help or ideas, you guys are a great help!

Most will tell you that after doing that, you should have used a new set of u-bolts. It is said they stretch when the bolts are tightened and should not be re-used. There are lots of threads on this. I dont think the rear shocks need replaced, but you may experience a low speed vibration due to reduced drive line angles. Shims will take care of that easily.

I did put on new U bolts, and I did start to notice low speed vibration now, it's not terrible but it's there, where could I go about getting shims and where do they go? Sorry, I'm a newbie when it's come to suspension and drivetrain

Napa would be a good place to check for shims. However if you do have a bit of miles on your truck you might want to look into new leafs for the rear. They get tired after a while and thats why your rearend will sag.
