Default removal of chrome caps

I am wanting to know of the easiest way to remove the chrome caps on the mirrors and door handles. Do I just pry on them or is there a better way? I would like to keep them in one piece so that I can PTM later if I get to it. thanks for any help

Easiest, and safest way to take off mirror caps is removing the mirror assembly itself. Tilt the glass all the way down and to the left or right, then with a thin flathead screwdriver, release one or both of the clips on the pivot point (allows glass to be moved in all directions).. The glass will hang on by the wires and just dangle.. Then there is 4 torque screws holding the assembly onto the mirror housing. They are T20. Remove those 4 screws and remove the assembly from the truck. Then, you'll see tabs holding the cap onto the assembly and will pop right off.
