As most on this forum know, I hate, hate, hate ANYONE touching my vehicles. This guy is one of very few I trust.

lol, I'm with you! There are certain things though that I'll even trust someone to do . My goal here though was to provide as much info as I could. The good news on the F150 is that it's extremely difficult to do damage to the ECU or similar doing a remote start install. On the newer vehicles though, there's a lot less wiring required but you tie into the PCM ... so if you mess up, you can damage the PCM. On the flip side, door locks, doors open are more of broadcast messages on the CAN-BUS network so the remote starter doesn't need additional wiring, it just receives those messages.

Back to the trust though, yes, I'm with you! haha. My apologies if I came across a bit defensive, I've just encountered interesting installs. I will admit though, I have seen even the cheap ones work though! With the lower-cost shops, it's really up to how much the guy cares haha. Unfortunately they don't usually stay though.

I salute you sir! Have a wife is challenging enough, more than one is a handful. Having them share an Expedition must be fun too.

This is one of the deals I was talking about. If I wouldn't have bought a pistol this week I would jump on it myself.

My girlfriend had the avitital installed in my truck right before Christmas and the last two days it's been acting up. I remote start it then 2 mins later it cuts off and tries to restart but no go and when I manually went to start it the battery and engine light was on and it wouldn't even try to turn over. After maybe 30 seconds the lights go off and I'm able to crank it with the key. Ill be bringing it to the guy who installed it Monday.
