Default Regearing for 35's?

I have read alot of threads but its still unclear. Some people regear for 35's and some don't. What is your opinion? I have 3.73 gears is mine and Im looking at 35's. Just want to hear what other people think about this.

I run 34x12 nittos and am running 3.73 gears and when I can afford it I am going to re gear. Even with 34 inch tires I notice a power loss. To me I feel like it'd be worth re gearing to me because I tow a lot and haul wood in the bed.

If you drive a lot of hills and tow a lot, I would say re-gear but I live in Florida and don't tow that much and my truck is perfect. It actually shifts smoother now than before the 35's. Just my opinion.....

With 35 and re gearing you would see a slight mpg increase

You can run the numbers yourself if you want:
http://www.4lo.com/calc/gearratio.php

Going from 32" tires to 35" would be like changing your gear ratio from 3.73 to 3.41, which of course isn't a factory ratio but would be somewhere between 3.31 and 3.55. To keep the same effective ratio when going from 32" to 35" you'd need to regear to 4.08 (again, not a factory ratio but 4.10 is pretty close!).

Of course, if you tow/haul a lot and don't spend much time running 75+ on the highway, you might benefit from even steeper gearing.

Wish I know of a chart that would tell the rpm changes, but there are too many variables I guess. If you don't go on long highway trips or plan on going 65 or under, I would go 4.56. Check the chart. don't forget the front diff

I've got 295-70-18 on my truck, close to 35's with 3.73 diff. I lost about 1-1.5 mpg and now it's a little bit slower. Nothing to bad though.
Although I did buy an edge Evo shortly afterwards to negate those losses and monitor trans fluid temps.
