Default regearing?

Is it necessary to regear if all you do is level, maybe a 2 inch body in the back, and 33's?
(5.4 if that makes a difference)

i wouldn't bother with a re-gear..the 5.4 is adequate in turning 33's. Unless you're really geared high, like a 3.08 or something. But most likely you've got a 3.55 or a 3.73 in there. Your towing might suffer a wee bit too.

well the gears havent been changed, so whatever the 05 came with is whats in there...as far as towing goes i only tow 2 four wheelers at a time so i never do anything serious, i cant see myself even noticing a dif.
reason i asked about regearing is i keep seeing everyone mention it on here everytime someone mentions a lift kit or bigger tires...i dont wanna blow up my truck with any of this stuff lol

I have a 2008 with a set of 285's (33") BFG's. I have 3.55 gears and a 5.4. You'll be fine with stock gears, (whatever they are). I can still spin the tires from a red light (only did it once, just so I could say that!). Tows fine. Plenty of power.

If you re-gear needlessly you will also lose power as well since the ECU will feel less load and compensate by giving less power.
