Default ? on refinishing stock KR wheels

just wondering if u guys hv any advice on refinishing or repainting my stock KR 2007 wheels

A body guy from the local Ford dealer told me that due to the damage on the wheels that they would hv to be repainted and couldn't be polished out because they are clear coated and its brushed metal...the metal is pitted and will hv to be filled

Im OK w/ that but im wondering what paint color the stock wheels are

I plan to sand out the damage.. self etching primer... paint and clear coat

I know my local auto paint store sells wheel spray paint but I don't know what Ford color I need...or if there is a better color that I could use

heres some pics......

My brother tried tackling this project on his 97 f150. He bought all the right stuff, sand paper, clear coat, buffing cone, mag polish, he only did the one rim cause of the work involved. Then he was pissed cause that rim never matched the others, you could still see the sanding marks. So he bought new rims later. Just a warning, TONS of work. Dedication is needed

The only way I would suggest going about those wheels is to remove the tires and have them sand blasted. After going through that, I'd just go have them powder coated and be done with it.

For the silver, I'd probably go with argent silver and and if you are going to go with the gold color, might be Harvest Gold.

Oh I was thinking you wanted to paint the inserts only and make them face factory like. But if you plan to paint them, I have seen ranger wheels painted all silver, idk what exact color. And I thought they looked really clean, versus polished face with silver inserts

I second the suggestion of having them sandblasted and then powder coated. That's what I had to do for my wheels on my 06. The metal was pitted as well. The sandblasting and powder coating worked wonders. You could still see the pits after if you looked very closely, but it was minimal.

the other issue I hv is that one of the wheels looks like its been replaced or repainted before because it doesn't have the colored inserts like the other three

personally I like the look of the whole wheel being a silver....w/ the colored inserts after a coating of dust they just look dirty
