Default Rear Window fell!!!

I have a 04 F150 FX4 and the final (4th) window fell. I dont want to pay the dealer $500 to fix it....if I dont have too. I am sure its the regulator (again). The first 2 fell while it was under warranty...we fixed the 3rd one but I dont remeber it costing $500. I called the Service department and the guy said $226 for the regulator and about $250 to install.

How on earth do you get the door panel off? I poked around for about an hour and found the the (2) 1/4" hex screws on the bottom right away but that door panel is on tight. I dont want to tear the truck up. SO before I get real rough with it I want to ask those who have done this before.

I have had no problems with this truck besides a new battery in 08.....except these damn windows. This is the final one so hopefully I wont have to screw with them any more.

install is pretty easy. the door panel has to be lifted up. the tabs point down.

250 to install it, lol, what a bunch of crooks, i can fix that is less than 30 minutes at most. it literally takes less than 5 minutes to pop off the panel.

yes it does, and you can use your other hand to hold the glass while you pull and place the new one in.

yea, it's bad enough the prices they charge for oem parts, then the SOB's want to rob the person on labor to fix it, no one wonder people can't afford stuff these days and you good enough to support your dealer and then they bend you over, the american way~rich get richer, poor get poorer

^^^^what are you smoken brother cause i want some, lol.Sorry but their parts suck and dont last long at all....I know plenty of jap parts that i use in my job that fail on the job site, lolNow the window glass and the parts in question are actually made in mexico, well mine are on mine anyways, lol. And jap parts are only good for one reason,to put on rice grinders so we all can laugh at them as we tower over them..God i love laughing at them,lol....

Thanks guys. The panel came off easy once I found that bolt behind the up/dwn switch.

Its permenatly up with a wooden dowel and tie warps right now. A total cost of $3 from ace hardware.

It will be easy to replace the regulator...now I figured out how to get the panel off.

paralizer......Where did you find the after market unit???? I was thinking of junk yard shopping. BUtI think the stock regulators are prone to break downs. My truck is 5 years old but only has 65K miles on it.

And wizrd no one is going to warranty a window motor for over 5 years. NO reason to make our economic situation worse by buying more stuff made in other countries. If you want a Camery fine as long as its made in in the US. If you want a BMW fine they make nice ones here in Greenville SC. But I like Trucks! Ford and Chevys....you know mans stuff.
