On my 2004 fx4 there is a small button down below the heat controlls where the ac button is would this by chance be a rear window defogger? My truck dont have the lines in window like they used to...just wondering if that may be it

That will activate the heated side-view mirrors. I don't think it does anything for the rear windows.

Yeah same with my truck, it's just for the heated mirrors, there's no rear deforester on mine

The way my manual reads (2005) is like they didn't want to come out and just say, "There is no rear defrost," instead saying that the, "rear defrost button will activate heated mirrors on equipped vehicles." Not sure what would be in it's place otherwise.

I think in some rare applications, they just tied the rear window and mirror defrost into the same circuit and used one button.

The most common thing is definitely the heated mirrors, and then a sliding rear for FX4's, I think Lariat's had a slightly more common heated rear window option.

This is exactly what they did... When I installed my heated mirrors and rear power sliding window with defogger I found the wiring diagram.
