quote from lucas oil website
"I wanted to give you this information about testing at Nashville last weekend. We ran the 75/90 Synthetic ger lube in the rear gear and transmission with 10% Lucas Synthetic Stabilizer mixed in.
On the long test runs (over 15 laps), we swaw 165 degree rear gear temperatures and 185 degree transmission temperatures. This is about a 15% reduction in heat from the previous numbers we have seen in 2003 when we ran other brands of oil."

I had leaky output shaft seals and when I finally blew at 49k I went with the 75/140. I'm at 130k now and the leaks have completely stopped. Seems as if the 75/90 is a just a fleet fuel economy gimmick. 75/140 is definitely the route to go on rear end.

Changed mine @ 30K-Glad I did
I have a 3.73 LS axle. It was getting just a tad noisy on turns, so changed to Mobil 1 75W-140 and added the Ford Friction Modifer. Runs very quiet now and I can feel the difference in the LS when I do occassionaly have to engage it. Ford recommends change @ 30K for heavy duty usage (trailer-towing) which I do.
