Default Rear end

Hi. read for a while, but finally full on!
Have 6" fabtech susp lift, 35" BFG's. have had humming noise from rear end for a while now and mechanic says its pinion bearing. found shavings on magnet. Still rocking stock gears which is apparently part of the problem. Since this needs to be repaired, i was curious if anyone had suggestions on upgrades? Clearly, grears need to be up'd to 4.56 but is there anything else i can/should consider to prevent this from happening again? ie. besides gear upgrade, what can be done to beef this thing up?

I have searched threads as well as extensive google searches with nothing satisfactory turning up.
used as daily driver w/ occasional offroading as well as towing.
