Default ratcheting type clicking noise coming from left front wheel

I just started hearing a racheting type clicking noise when I am making a right hand turn but it comes from the left front wheel. Someone had mentioned that it could be the 4wd hub partially engaging? Does that make any sense when it is a vacuum and electric operated 4wd system? Vehicle is a 2007 F150 Lariat Super Crew 5.4l with 3.73 ratios. I have an extended warranty and I only have 47K miles on the truck. It is still also under the basic power train warranty. Would the 4wd system be considered part of the power train? Is this something easy that I can do or does it require special tools that only a dealership would have?

Input is greatly appreciated.

It might be the wheel bearing hub, I have had this exact problem twice. Had to replace entire rotor. Both times, I hope i helped

could be left front hub exploded - it happened to my right hub, could be left front cv-shaft about done and needing to be replaced, left front hub could also be partially engaged as you said.

2wd and 4wd front hubs are completely different.

I could say that might have been the case if I just got the truck but I have had it for just over a year now and its been in no accidents or anything since Ive owned it. The noise just started.

My truck (2006 FX4, 68k) is also making the clicking sound... directly related to wheel speed. I don't know if this is from the IWE vacuum system or not, but I am checking that first. Then perhaps bearings. If mine was under warranty... I would take it in.

Josh, that happened to my truck and the vacuum line had water in it causing it to improperly release and seal. Long story short my hubs were locked when I was driving and they had to be replaced.

Have same noise just started about two weeks ago, I just bought the Truck back in July. I guess since its still under warranty, when they replace the clutch pak they can look at that. Lovely...
