Default raising seats for subs...

my JL 10w7's need 8 inchs of clearance, and the boxes ive seen so far only allow 6.25 inchs of sub clearance with a 2.5" lift made by LMI. LMI makes a 4 inch lift but its for the model before the 04's. also, that box i just mentioned only has .95 CU FT per sub, i need 1.25 per sub. any ideas??? im willing to sacrifice head room for a little more space, and maybe go forward some with the box and lose some leg room to get the 1.25 per sub. anyone know some "actual" custom sub enclosure makers? everyplace i find on google shows that same box and dont actually make a "custom" enclosure

Man, thats gonna be tight. I have 2- 10" DC Audio Level 2 subs in a box under my rear seat with the LMI kit and it was pretty tight getting it all to fit. My subs only have a mounting depth of about 6" too. To find the depth and air volume you want, I bet you will have to go with a custom box. Shouldn't be too hard to find someone to build you one out on So. Calif.

As for the LMI kits, installation is a pain in the rear but well worth it. The kits are made very well and look stock once installed. Good luck. Take plenty of pics to post too. Would love to see what you end up with.

I have 2 JL 10s under my seat, didnt half to lift my seat, they are hard to get to lock down but they will. I have heard of people lifting there seats with warshers under the floor mounting bolts. You might search that and see what pulls up.

Could you measure the distance from the floor to the seat with the LMI kit? I am wanting to add a box on the driver's side and haven't recieved my lift kit yet.

Apparently this guy does really good custom work (found in the thread I posted)
http://stores.ebay.com/Rodneys-Custom-Speaker-Boxes

I found the info for him in this thread and everyone seems to really like his work (if your thinking about a custom box that is)

Depends on what sub you use but the front clearance is roughly 10-11 inches tall an the back is roughly 8"s...
