Rails on Top of Tool Box

Rails on Top of Tool Box
Has anyone added rails to the top of their tool box? I know you can buy one with them like the picture below but I hate that gap in the middle, plus I already have a single lid uws. I'm thinking of just one large loop to go around the whole top of a single lid.
