My truck had t but my dealer sent it to a body shop which removed it. A while later I started seeing a couple spots again, but just a few. Rail dust or Iron particles also comes from semi-metallic pads too... it's almost an ending battle. But before I would have it repainted I would try and see if another dealer can do any better at removing it.

I have a 2007, white, and have these spots. Also had them on my 1996. Every spring for 12 years I would have to clean them off. Meguiars #6 cleaner/wax and elbow grease. Would not see them again till after winter. I still think its the road salt. Got my 08 last winter, cleaned all the little spots off in the spring. After our first winter storm, they are back. For the real stubborn ones Flitz works.

actually rail dust is the shavings caused by the iron wheels of the train contacting the iron rails. The rails are negatively charged and your truck is positively charged, so it acts like a magnet for the iron shavings. These shavings imbed into the paint and fracture it causing tiny rust spots to appear. If not corrected the rust will spread under the paint and cause major damage. I also experienced this on a 05 Dodge and had major troubles getting dodge to correct it.

I used to have little rust spots on my last car and just thought it was from salt and stuff on the road.
A clay bar always took care of them. It also made the paint look alot better.

I have the same problem with my truck as well. I have found that the clay bar works good, but is very time consuming.... During the fall I tried water and baking soda, worked great I just need to find a way to keep it from coming back.
