This probably won't help, but my son stuck some coins in my CD player. I took the radio out and thought I cleared all of them, but I didn't. The radio would randomly come on while the truck was turned off. It eventually came on while I was on a trip and ran the battery down. After I checked for and removed the loose change it worked fine. Also, I was driving down a bumpy highway and everytime I hit a bump, the radio would come on. Eventually, I hit a big bump and the radio went off along with all the dash lights and my tail lights.

Isolate the door by unplugging the door switch and see if that makes the problem go away.

I'll try to isolate the door. The problem has changed. 1st the windows stopped working with the doors open like they where suppose to. Then the radio started cutting off with the doors open like it was suppose to. Didn't drive the truck for the weekend and tried to start it today and the battery was dead. Read 9v. Battery is 4 months old and is top of the line. Alt puts out the correct voltage while running. If i "jump start" the truck the battery will charge and be fine for a day or so. Something is draining the battery but not sure what.

TTT I replaced the battery a week ago which was bad. My problem with the radio went away until today. I woke up this morning to the sound of something booming outside and low and behold it was my radio in my truck. The truck sat for a week and hasn't been ran at all. All of a sudden the radio turns on???? No one else had this prob? Could it just be a bad radio? I have no other issues besides the radio. The interior lights work fine, the door chime works fine the windows work properly, JUST THE RADIO. I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. Thanks for any help!!

To test if it's the radio, unplug the largest connector from it (remove the radio/AC trim plate), remove the 4 screws that hold the radio into the dash. There were 3 different type radios, some with just the one large wiring harness, some with two (large wiring harness, and one small harness (steering wheel controls), and one with three (third for overhead console DVD player). Unplug the largest, as this has the blue power and black ground that powers the radio. Leave it like this for a few days. If the battery doesn't drain, it's the radio I'd say.

I actually pulled the fuse for the radio a while back and the battery didn't drain. But why would the radio just turn on after the truck had been sitting for a week? Shouldn't the battery saver relay kill the power to everything? Can I pull the fuse for the accessory delay relay and everything still work when truck is running? Sorry for so many questions but I'm broke, I have a newborn and my wife is in nursing school and I really don't have the money to let the dealership troubleshoot this.

Thanks!

I think the problem has to be the computer that controls rap for your truck. You mention it randomly turns on which means its either getting a bad signal or it is misunderstanding signals it is given.

While the radio is staying on, do your power windows still work? Im not sure, but maybe its the "accessory delay" relay. I read through your thread and don't think anyone's mentioned it. The relay is located in the fuse panel (refer to fuse section in manual).
