Default Radio upgrade

Hello All,

I have a 2006 XL with a factory standard radio. I would like to swap it out with a radio that has and AUX jack or use with a MP3 player. Ford has a 6 changer radio that has MP3 capabilities. Not sure how it works since there appears to be no visible AUX jack on the front. Suggestions?,

My 04 has a button for an aux input. Does anyone know if there is a jack on the back of the radio to connect something to? How do I get to it?

If I'm not mistaken, that AUX option is for a satellite radio, and not for a front-mounted jack. I have a 2006 also and the first thing I did was to install a Pioneer deck that accepts two auxilliary inputs. I use it with an iTouch and am very happy with it. It's an easy installation and not too expensive.

^^ agreed. AUX: DVD, Sat radio, or line in IF equipped.

The MP3 capabilities that DDT is asking about though is the CD player itself, its' capable of playing your recordable CD's burnt in the MP3 format.

The 07+ had the line in jack ontop of the dash to plug in your iPod, or other such MP3 player in that respect.

My 07 FX4 has this line in and sure don't need any other aftermarket radio since I jam my iPod into the jack and have more music than needed for pretty much any journey.

Thank you for the information. That is what I wanted to confirm. Wonder if the 07 radio would fit in my 06 or would I be better off with an aftermarket radio like Kenwood or such.

Pull the plastic bezel off that surrounds the radio and ac/heater controls, then remove 4 screws and pull the radio out.
