well like title says when i shut off truck the radio keeps playing even without the key in it. btw, 06 5.4 screw

Maybe a stupid question. Does it go off when you open the door? Are you referring to accessory delay? If so, this is normal if you have that. I might be misunderstanding as you've provided limited detail.


There is also an issue with the door switch on the drivers side acting up. In that case, if you open the drivers door and the radio stays on but open the passenger and it goes off, this confirms that (also dome light operation). Lots of articles on here if that's the case.

no i mean if i dont pay attention to it it will be playing when i get up next mourning it only shuts off at the on/off button

Ahh, it's stuck on constantly? Do your power windows work when this happens? If so, your accessory line is staying constantly powered for some reason. If not, it's probably internal to the radio. Depending if it is or not I can help you down a different troubleshooting path.

Also check to see if it shuts off when you open the other door/doors.

I know the 97-03 trucks were bad about the map lights/cargo lights staying on when you shut the door. A quick spray of wd40 solved the issue.

You can try the wd40, otherwise the switch is in the latch that turns the radio off.
