Quick Question regarding an 05 LXT
Ive been shopping around for a while now looking to to get a used F 150 probably an 05 or 06 LXT or STX, whatever I can get a good deal on. I drive a 04 Explorer with a 5.4 liter motor and haven't had many problems with that, up till now Ive had the front end re-done and had some problems with the A/C. I also own an 06 E 350 Extended Cargo Van with the v 10 motor, now when I bought that it had about 160,000 miles on it so I was really skeptical but upon doing some more research good a good feel for the longevity of that V10 motor.
Anyways, in shopping for my new truck, Ive found 2 in particular that I like. One is an 05 XLT 5.4 V8 Triton with 140,000 miles, the guy is asking for 9k, Im looking to spend around 8k, that aside, 140,000 miles is a lot, especially when buying a used truck not knowing who all owned it before, if it was regularly maintenanced, etc, I'm just skeptical about spending that much on a truck with more than 100,00 miles, so my question is, what do you guys think? Will the transmission last me another 60,000 miles, or what sort of problems are f 150s known to face and around what mileage (assuming they weren't driven into the ground before) they occur.
I appreciate everyone's input on this.
