Default Question for you that swapped to signal mirrors

I have a set of signal mirrors on the way for my truck...I know I have the wires for the signals but I'm curious if any of you guys tried to get the heat to work and what was involved

When I was installing my tow mirrors I was unable to get the heated mirrors to work easily. I was going to tap into the fuse panel but the wire I wanted to use is always hot. Then I was going to run the wire into the controls when I turned on the defroster and that always had power. I ran out of time and did lot want to install a switch so I left it alone. I have a 05 XLT.

I'm sure it can be done though. My truck did not have the pins for heated mirrors in the door which made or difficult for me.

Your lucky. I had to find wires for the turn signal and the puddle lamp. I'm glad I did the work I really enjoy those features from the mirror. Hopefully all the pins are there already for you and it's just plug and play.

Well if the wires are there I would think the pins would be

That's the best case scenario. If you do have to re-pin the connectors, you'll only have to move one ground to a different slot. Takes all of about a minute Signal mirrors are sweet

The ground wire is grouped with all the other wires....mirror is only 4 pins but the harness has all the wires needed...and yea it doesn't take long to move one pin
