Default Question for Airbag users

I'm getting ready to install a rear AirLift kit with the wireless compressor. For those of you with compressors, can you tell me where it's mounted at and if you've had any issues with dirt or water getting to it?

Are you doing Airlift or Firestone? I went with the AirLift Ride Controls (59544) and the Wireless compressor (72000) so I wouldn't have deal with running gauges into the cab. Amazon has some nice pricing for them.

Thanks culprit. I was just talking to the service manager at my local 4WPs and he said they usually stick them on the inside of the frame rails towards the front of the bed. Sounds like it's not real scientific, just find a spot that doesn't appear to get much road grime kicked up.

It isnt scientific at all.. I used to do custom suspensions so i have put them everywhere even behind the grills and in cabs. Also i wouldnt even worry about the road grime to much. Most of the compressors are made to go outside. Just check the heat sink every once in a while to clean it if it needs to be so it doesnt get to hot. Even then it should be fine wherever.

Firestone

I haven't graduated to the cool stuff you big kids play with. Maybe one of these days I will...

Don't know if I'd call it graduating. I think they're about even. I just found the best deal on the Airlift setup.

Culprit - thanks again for sharing.

The nice thing about the airlift bags though is that they have a lifetime crimp failure warranty so if the top/bottom crimp comes off they replace it free. You probably wont have that problem though.

Good to know. My biggest fear is that I might ruin the bag by overextending it if I'm offroading. I've thought about trying to round up some limiting straps, but most folks have told me not to worry unless it's a dedicated rock climbing machine or I changed out to custom shocks with extended droop travel. Any experience with this?
