What's up fellas. I am getting ready to buy a 2007 FX4 supercrew....which is big by the way cause I am a diehard GM fan, but after driving my friends FX4 and my dislike of the new Chevy truck I am making the switch Anyways, I am in Iraq right now and looking at rims and tires for this truck. I plan on putting on 2 inch leveling spacers and am considering either the Moto Metal 951's or the Mickey Thompson Classic 2's, but I don't understand how to tell if they will fit based on the offset/backspace. Can anyone educate me on this....

They all will fit, but the tire will decide whether or not you will rub.

How would I determine how much they will stick out? I know with a 2 inch level I can't run anything bigger than a 33".

You can run 35"s, they will rub slighty but IMO worth it.

Im not going to try to explain backspacing b/c it confuses me too.

Welcome and congrats on the switch!!! I USED to be a GM man too but since the new look of the crappy silverado and my love for the look and performance of this truck I couldn't be anymore happier.

The backspace thing is quite easy. You take the difference between stock wheel width and new wheel width and add that to the difference between stock wheel backspace and new wheel backspace.

So on a 04+ ford you would have 7.5" wheel width and 5.5" backspace and lets say the new wheel is 9" wide with 5" backspace. You would have 9-7.5=1.5 inches plus 5.5-5=0.5" so the new wheel would stick out (1.5+0.5) 2 inches.

Correct! The less backspacing you have the more your new wheel will stick out from under the fenderwall.

I'd try to stick as close to the stock backspacing (5.5) as possible.
