question about fuel door and housing...??
Was getting gas a couple weeks ago and put the pump away and my fuel door wouldnt shut
Started investigating and found a piece of wire that acts as a spring(i think) to keep the door open when fueling and keep it closed when done. Its either missing a part or the wire isnt doing the job any more. im going to buy a new housing and replace the part, should be pretty simple i think.
My question though is the housing and the actual fuel door are concidered different parts, but i dont know how to get the door off the swing arm. i tryed taking a flat screw driver wedging it between the swing arm and the door and got nervous that chunks of plastic were going to start flying.
Anybody know if they do come apart and how to do it. Maybe i just need to use more force. dont want to break it and be out the painted fuel door
