Question about backup LED light
I want to add a small white LED light (bar or pod) to serve as a auxiliary back up light 20 my 2005 F150 SCAB. My question is about where to pull power for a small LED light bar.
For those who are more knowledgeable about F150 wiring than me, would the existing power supply to the factory back up lights be sufficient to support the additional load of an LED light if I used a positap to tap into the supply wire to the light?
My concern is that the existing power supply line to the factory back up lights would be of too light a gauge to support the additional draw of an additional light.
Thoughts?

You could tap into one of the existing reverse light wires for a signal to a relay. That way you're not pulling the full load of the extra light/lights through any factory circuit. Don't forget to add a fuse to the relay circuit though. Unless you've added other accessories, you should have a few open spots in the fuse block already.

I taped mine into the reverse wire on the 7 pin trailer connection. it's super easy and is fused and meant for a load so there's no problems. comes on when I shift into rev and turns off when I shift out
