Default Question about 35x12.5x18 Nittos.

I have a 2005 F150 Super Crew 4x4 Lariat. I have been looking at getting 35x12.5x18 Nitto Trail Grapplers. My question is will these fit on stock 18" rims. I know I can fit them, I am just not sure if I can fit them on these rims. I have been doing research on this and have come across some who have said you can and some who said you can't so I just figured I would ask you guys directly. And I have already used the search feature.. with mixed results.

Thanks!

Their site says that size will fit a 8.5"-11" rim width.

From what I can find the stock lariat wheel is 18x7.5 so it would not fit. Can someone please confirm this for me?

Probably a bit too wide for the factory rims, you could likely get them to mount but they might not wear evenly. I'm sure you could fit a thinner ~35" tire though.

How many miles have you put on them and you have not noticed any uneven wearing of the tread?

Like Clemson wrote; you can do it, just that some manufacturers like to limit their liability by keeping the fitment suggestions rather "tight." We have a lot of Jeep guys running 12.5 width tires on the stock 7.5" wide wheels with zero issues.

Here's the question - are you planning to off-road and air down below 20psi (rough figure)? That's when you might run into issues; your threshold for popping a bead on a narrower wheel will be lower (i.e. less tolerance).

All the wheels in 2005 were 7.5". I'd do it if was for a spare... but that's a lot of cash to drop on sneakers even if there might be an issue. Just my .02¢

I currently have bfg all terrains 305/70/18.. but I noticed that the next size down nitto trail grappler they make is a 295/70/18 so I am just going to have to do some thinking. Until I can invest in some new rims that is.
