Question 2004 F150 problems

My truck finally gave me a check engine light after giving me the same problem that it had b4. I took it to autozone and they gave me 2 codes both for the Cam Shaft timing.

first code: P0022 with probable solutions of cam timing incorrect or the VCT solenoid stuck open.

second code: P0345 with probable solutions of check other service codes first, open or short circuit condition poor electrical connection failed camshaft sensor.

any help on what it could be would be great thanks...

any other questions that you may have email at blackdodgeram98@yahoo.com (i know i used to have a dodge and i upgraded to the ford) dont give me too much for it...

would be great...maybe can get it fixed this weekend....

i have an 05 FX4 and started to have the same problems as you right about 41k. its been nothing but a headache with this truck, one thing after another. it jumped timing on a misfire that blew my exhaust apart, from there the time jump took out my cam phasers, cam sensors, the timing chain broke as well when this all happened so i had to replace both of them along with the tensioners. had all this done and truck ran great for about 2k more miles then started misfiring again. come to find out its a plug issue, pull all the plugs and of course 5 or the 8 broke off in the head but the number 5 cyclinder was interesting. the only thing left of the plug was the ceramic. all the metal was burnt and or melted! replaced all plugs ans coil packs at this time and ran great for about another 1k or so then had to replace coil pack #8, and number 2 twice. i have had no luck with this truck things just seem to be getting worse because the other day i went to put it into 4wheel and it locked in fine, when i was head down the trail to our cabin herd a really loud thump and then a bang get out and look and to my amazement the transfercase was in peice underneath my truck! ive about hit my boiling point with this truck. ive owned it since it was brand new and have always had it dealer serviced, but now with a little over 10k outta ive spent upwards of $11k to fix this truck and keep it as my daily runnner. paid $36k for it new, and with over $11k in just repairs, i appauled at fords craftmenship on these trucks! the money i spent on this i should be driving around a F350 Lariat or King Ranch. ive been a ford guy all my life but this is just rediculous

i Had the same problem, my cam shaft sensor was being blocked by a small oil leak comming from the front of the engine. the oil was dripping down on the sensor causing it to fail. Check into that first before you keep waisting money on new sensors. Trust me its not a cheap problem eighter!
