PVC Valve for 2005 5.4L V8

05 5.4l pcv
Having same issue. Loud whining noise everybody said pcv valve. Changed pcv heater element for $85 from dealer - still have noise. Now I hear pcv valve is in valve cover??? The noise fades as you accelerate moving. Pull oil cap and noise stops - lots of vacuum from oil filler tube. Pull line to pcv heater will stall truck. Start truck with it off and it runs fast with a lot of vacuum from line.

found answer
After posting I read others with the same problem and discovered that that line and the line from the EGR were switched - Probably when I had the plugs changed(obviously) Switch them back and all is well.
Thanks for the quick reply

Pvc for f150 5.4
OK fellas, I've seen a couple of posts about this issue (replacing the PVC valve) and either you have given up or you found your own way to do it. I have a 2005 F-150 5.4L V8. I have been to every place except the dealer to get one and no one has the right one or it is NA in the computer. I know the Haynes manual says that it needs to be replaced every 48 months or 60,000 miles, but I need the specifics. Where to find it and the approx cost. I know by now someone has done it themselves. (Surely you don't just pay the dealer without checking it out)
I know there is one, I can take it off and check it out. I know where it is located and I need some good answers. Tell me where you got it and how you replaced it.

In the 5.4L, the PCV valve is part of the (right?) valve cover. You have to replace the entire valve cover if its broken. Now what you found is probably for the 4.6L.
I should mention that the original poster probably found what he needed, since this thread was from 2010.
