I considered it, but I'm still 16 and I know time flies (especially since I have plans to go into medical school) but I've still got a long way to go. Also, my father was willing to buy me a new Lariat/give me his raptor at no expense to me but I'd much rather have an old truck that I earned myself. Not to mention I won't be able to tear it up offroad/lift it while it's still in warranty. For college I do plan on buying a newer truck so high miles won't be a huge problem to me. Not to mention my dad has taught me never to take a loan on a car and always pay cash otherwise don't buy it. I know it must be frustrating for you to read my ignoring of your message but I'd rather do things this way and not get caught up in debt.

Ended up not purchasing the truck I was talking about, right before I left for the dealer my friend actually found a better one. The one she sent me a link to is a private seller she knows and it's an '06 4x4 for $12.5k with 80k miles basically the same options except missing the aftermarket navigation I can add in for like $300 if I actually need it. He said I can get it inspected if I want but I'll be going to test drive it/check it out Sunday afternoon after church. The guy selling it seems really nice and some of my friends know him and said I shouldn't be worried at all about the truck's history since he uses it as a mall crawler. Hoping to strike a deal on this one it's black leather interior mint condition black exterior.

Update: just checked it out test drove it and everything and I am IN LOVE with the truck. He said I could have it today for 12.5 or next Sunday for 11.8 so I'm waiting till next Sunday. He doesn't have another car and he picks up his new 2015 duramax next Saturday so he didn't want to go through the hassle of a rental car. Only thing it has that I don't like is a bench seat up front but oh well that's not a big deal. Will post pics when I get on my computer in this post.

He also just got it serviced at 80k last week and nothin was wrong with it, and it has 20k old spark plugs.

Sounds good! While I think it is admirable you like to work for a living you still should have kept that money in the bank and do your parents proud by not asking for money while your off at college. LOL! Just kidding that's your business but good luck with the truck!

Haha that could've also been a good decision, wish I had thought of it earlier. One of my friends works at Caterpillar 30 hours a week while he's at NC State and he must make like $20k a year while at school. I'm hoping I can land some sort of job like that while I'm in college.

Back to the truck:

Hopefully by Christmas I'll have the truck lifted 6" and on 35's. If I was going the rough country route I could probably have the money in two months but I'm from West Monroe LA so I want to get a Skyjacker lift to support the "local" company. I think it's gonna look mean!
