Just got a call from the dealer. I hear they rethreaded and installed the plug and new cop and she's running again. 2 codes that they cleared were p0358 and the other Was a lean code which could be from the truck being run without the plug in. I'm on my way and will have more information soon. Oh yeah, $278...to re thread and instal the plug and clear the code.

She's back home. Total cost of plug change and disaster=$427. Cleared the threads, installed new plug and cop and cleared the codes. No codes on the drive home. I took the scenic route to feel her out. She's got that "get up and go" again. Sounds real nice too. I have about 3/4 of a tank so I'll repost after I calculate my mileage after the next couple of fill ups. I was getting 11.61 mpg. Next project will be throttle body cleaning, new cops, tranny flush, radiator flush and LCA/UCA replacement. Lots of fun projects with a lot less chance of disaster than the plugs.

Thanks again to everyone for the encouragement and concern. Without this forum I wouldn't have a clue.

Glad you got her fixed up. Looks like you got that plug cross threaded from the start and drove it in until you hit 25 ft-lbs. That's why it probably only went in a few threads and then popped out.
