I did mine on a warm engine. I had 113K, ran seafoam for 300 miles in the gas tank, and had ZERO break. Bought a new Lisle tool that I returned.

thanks, I believe I read a post that you recently posted something similar. I just bought the tool also, hoping I can return it. I sea foam the gas tank once a month to a month and a half since I bought the 04 in 08. Thanks for the input.
Anyone else?

Yeah.

Stop using Seafoam and start using Techron. If you'd read the MSDS you'd know why.

On the change (provided you have everything else - boots, dielectric, nickel A/S, SP515's, beer, etc) ... take your time.

And of course, best of luck!

2nd the warm motor...ALSO, be very very careful with cyls.4 &8....those 2 seem to break more often than the rest, and they're WAY harder to get to....hope this helps, and take your time

When I did my plug change at 120k I used sea foam deep creep as the penetrate to soak the plugs after I barley cracked the plugs loose and I had none that broke. I also worked to plugs in and out. Two turns out then turn them back tight then 4 turns out then back to tight and so on until they came out. Just my 2 cents. Also did it on a cold engine.

Hi.

Good man. That has been my preferred method - have had very good luck so far. Nice, slow and easy - a lot of the ol' In-Out . Engine in a warm garage.

Crack them just enough to break the gas seal to allow the penetrant/carbon softener to wick down and do it's work. Let it work some.

My preferred chemical is Motorcraft PM-2 (as spec'd in the latest TSB).

Change oil & filter afterwards.

Thank you gentlemens. I appreciate it. I'm about to start and I've got all day. The boys in school and the wife's off to work. Just me, my Betsy and my dos Equis. I'll let y'all know how it went.
