I would be pulling it on the interstate to Fort Leavenworth, and once i get there i would just pull it from the storage facility on post to the nearest lake that is suitable to play on, most likely Clinton or Perry. I would like to pull it to the Lake of the Ozarks once or twice a year.

I would like to keep the F150 and not change out to a bigger truck, so i wouldn't have a problem changing out the gears and adding a huge tranny cooler if you all think that would work. Furthermore, i don't have a problem driving 55 mph the whole way there. I would drive it in two days, making a stop in Fort Campbell rather than driving the whole thing in one day.

Hey, I'm in Destin right now! My dad does work up at Fort Rucker too!

I wouldnt mind upgrading to a 7.3L diesel F-350 , not dually, if I owned a boat that big. You might plan on leaving it in the water now but plans change

Default Not with a 1/2 ton

Agree with ATOM on this one. I wouldn't pull that heavy of a boat with a 1/2 ton. Best to either rent a 3/4 or 1 ton truck or have a buddy with a 3/4 or 1 ton to pull it for you or hire a service to do it. just my .02 but I wouldn't do it.

If it helps, I pull a 9500 lb travel trailer with my '04 F150 SC FX4. Edge Evolution and BFG 285/65/18 are the only changes from factory. My tranny hits 226 deg on the big hills.

That will help shorten a trannys life span.

I agree with you. This was the first time I pulled it out of my seasonal spot. I'm now searching for a larger tranny cooler.
