Default Pulling a big boat

I have a 8,100 lb boat (dry) with a 1,900 lb triple axel trailer 500lb tongue weght with electric over hydraulic breaks and a weight distribution hitch. The boat came with the trailer however I have never used the trailer, I have been keeping it in a slip with a lift for the past couple of years. I am being PCSed 1,000 miles away in a few months and i am faced with having to move the boat, and here is the problem. I have a 2004 F150 FX4 with a 6" lift, 35x12r20 tires and the ford tow package. I have the edge programmer, trailer break controls and all of the normal bolt-ons (exhaust/intake). i know that the truck is rated to pull 9,900 lbs, but with the fluids in the engines on the boat it will exceed the limit. it has 230 gallon gas tanks, which i will burn as much out of them as i can, however i cannot let them go dry so there will be some added weight there also. basically, i am wondering if the huge weight of the boat and the added drag it will create at 55mph will be too much for the truck. I don't want to buy a F250 but i don't want to get 100mi down the road and break down due to stupidity. anyone have any suggestions?

you shouldnt have a problem at all. these truck can easily tow over the 9900 lb. limit. if you do a search on what they can tow you will see for yourself what people have said that they towed.

you need to have you truck regeared to 4.88's ASAP, personally i wouldn't even consider pulling a boat that size with a 1/2 ton, let alone a lifted one.

Will it pull it? Yes. Would I pull it 1000 miles? no. Can we see some pics of the boat. I would hate to have to fill up 230 gallons of fuel.

Not neccisarily. If he has stock 3.73's and keeps the speed at about 55 he should be okay. I have a strong feeling that most of this is gonna be highway. But I guess new gears would be cheaper than an f250, lol.

your right it may not die, but he will shorten the life by alot IMO, i bet that tranny temp will hit 250...then's when your tranny goes bye bye...a truck needs to be setup to pull 10,000 pounds...if he was geared, monster tranny cooler, and took it easy, was 50 miles not 1000, i would say it's doable....but i see this all the time...1/2 ton truck pulling some a 3/4 ton's load...not safe

I don't have a picture of it on the computer, it is in Destin and I am stationed in Fort Rucker. It is a 2001 Baja Outlaw 36' SST.

I would be pulling it on the interstate to Fort Leavenworth, and once i get there i would just pull it from the storage facility on post to the nearest lake that is suitable to play on, most likely Clinton or Perry. I would like to pull it to the Lake of the Ozarks once or twice a year.

I would like to keep the F150 and not change out to a bigger truck, so i wouldn't have a problem changing out the gears and adding a huge tranny cooler if you all think that would work. Furthermore, i don't have a problem driving 55 mph the whole way there. I would drive it in two days, making a stop in Fort Campbell rather than driving the whole thing in one day.

Defiantly regear to at least a 4.56 and a bigger tranny cooler/pan would help a lot too. You may also want to look into getting a tranny temp guage.
