Default Pulled the trigger on 275/70/18 BFG all terrains.

After opting out of the road hazard warranty and valve stems, Discount Tire Direct's price was over 100 bucks cheaper than Tire Rack. Now comes the agony of waiting for the UPS man.

I was told yesterday that all BFG goodrich tires were made in Mexico now and are garbage in that they have very short tread-life because they are using lesser grade materials now then say a year ago.

Really hope someone knows the truth because I was looking at Rugged Trails and now may go with the All Terrains as I have heard they are good and wear pretty well.

MY rugged trails are OE, or at least I think so and they have 60,000+ miles on them

still looking for an answer. LOL doesn't really help me. Especially since I am probably going to be getting some new tires this week.

Here's the best answer I can give you: Don't believe every rumor you hear. There are brand loyalists and anti-brand loyalists for every part made for every vehicle. Those types of people love to start nonsense rumors that are easily debunked with common sense. Mexico? Maybe. Garbage? Nonsense. Lesser grade materials? C'mon. Think about it.

I agree with this. Why would a company thats been one the best tire manufacturers for decades just decide to use cheaper materials. Yeah, they may decide to move the factory for cheaper labor, but I doubt they would put their whole reputation on the line. I'm sure they are still selling millions of tires even with a slower economy. I got my BFG all terrains about 5 months and 5,000 miles ago and they still look brand new. I'm very happy with them.

Awesome, thanks a lot. That was what I was thinking too, but wasn't sure. The only real answer I can think is that if they weren't 10ply's they probably would wear faster.

We'll see what tires I end up going with once I get there with $$ in hand to purchase.
