Default puddle lights

does anyone know where/what wires i need to tap into to get the puddle lights to come on i bought the cheap $20 stick on, flexiable lights from walmart and i want to stick them on the bottum of each running board does anyone know how to tap into the dome lights? thanks

If I were you I wouldnt tap into your dome light, I would tap into your door ajar sensors. You dont want to overload the dome light circuit. Not sure what color the door ajar sensor wires are though. But should be easy enough to pop a door panel off and check it out.

In the drivers side door sill there is a mess of wires (main harness). There will be a blue wire with a black stripe towards the bottom of all the wires. There are a couple blue w/black wires so you might want to test it before you cut into it. Just leave your door open and see if it is hot or not with a multimeter.

Now your talking about the bottom of the door right where that plastic diamond plate looking thing is right?

Its easier to get that wire right up by the drivers kick panel.

It is the area right under the e-brake pedal release lever. Also, where your hood latch lever is located. That plastic piece is removable. There are a bunch of wires in there where the door ones and cab ones meet.
