I have an 07 FX4, why do the 07+ not have to worry about it?

The 07-08 still have to worry about it, the problem is still there for those trucks but isn't as bad as the 04-06 but there is always the threat.

ive got a really good friend with a 08 civic si mugen and he uses a Hondata flash pro which comes with user friendly map's and all you have to do check off a box on this software it comes with, and waalaaa it goes fast.

so,

What your trying to say is this, there is no manually customizable tuner for our trucks like the FlashPro?

Its technically there for all cai since you're adding more air. The 04-06 trucks came tuned leaner from the factory than the 07-08, and are more susceptible to engine damage.

I put this up hesitantly: There is a program that can do what you're talking about but it isn't really "custom" tuning and can lead to very serious damage. The person writing a custom tune factors in many things like cfm of the particular intake you have etc. when writing a tune. The program has check boxes that hope to cover most of its bases. Check a wrong box or two and not fully know what you are doing and it can cause engine failure. When it comes to the transmission, a custom tuner doesn't increase line pressure to change shift points. The program raises the pressure and can lead to early transmission failure or blown lines. Yes you can do tuning on your own, but the difference on a dyno between doing it yourself vs a professional doing it is going to be none. There is a difference between waalaa and fast and safe and fast.
