Default Problems automatic transmission f150 2004

Hello,

I am from holland and I have F150 fx4 from 2004 \ 45000 miles
De ford dealer in holland does not kwon what the problem can be whit my truck.

When the truchk is cold I put the transmission in D sometimes the engine makes a lot of rpm but less speed. It looks like it is the 4x4 low. But when I have driven a vew miles it is over and transmission is running well. I checked the oil in the transmission it looks clear and enough. (maybe to mutch I think)

Who knows what the problem can be.

Kind regards
Koen Arendsen

is there any tranny codes coming up? the dealer should be able to scan for these. are you checking your fluid hot or cold? i think tranny fluid should be up to operating temp before you check it, and also must be running. good luck

ya once the fluid gets warm the transmission will shift alot easier. im sure the weather is much cooler in holland then here, so at the start, its gonna be a lil slow

Hello,

There is no code comming up, and I meassure the oil when the transmission is hot and standing in P. I must say that it is hard to see what the oil level is, because there is oil al over the level indicator.

There are still no pinguings walking in my garden , but I know what you mean when it is cold. But this is an other problem.

Once in a 30 times he has this problem, and after driving 1 mile it is over.
The engine runs verry heavy and the acceleration is low. It looks like the transmission is slipping.

Can it be a pressure problem or something like that?

Kind regard

Koen

idk, but mine sometimes does that as well. its very rare, but it does feel like there is a slip every once in a while. ive always thought that it was cuz the size of the tires on it, but idk.

That sounds like the same problem I have.

I get that problem, too.. once in a great while, it 'bumps'.. as if the teeth are not engaging all the way. Disconcerting considering I use my '06 F-150(heavy) for hotshot work in/out of Houston, TX.

FYI - my truck has 301,850 *s*miles on it. 3rd set of spark plugs, 2nd set of rear rotors/hubs, 3rd set of front rotors/hubs, original gaskets, 2nd alternator and fixing to have it's 2nd compressor and 3rd belt. This month, also changing out the catalytic converterrs.

Fixed my flashing odometer problem by taking the LCD display out, laying a thin bead of solder on the legs, and pushing it back in the socket.

Other than that, it's been a great truck.
