problem with my 4" Rancho suspension lift?
New to this so bare with me. I'm trying to find some answers to why I keep breaking cv shafts ever since I got my 4" Rancho suspension lift installed on my '06 F-150 about two years ago. I was told by my mechanic that the bracket that lowers my differential probably doesn't bring it down quite low enough and it puts my cv shaft in a bind. I looked at a couple of my friends trucks(same yr and model as mine) with 2" leveling kits and their cv shafts look way more in a bind than mine yet they don't have any problems with theirs. Oh, I was also told that after the cv shaft breaks it puts a strain on the actuator and bearing assembly as well. This is why I've replaced 4 cv shafts, 4 bearing assemblies, and 3 actuators since the lift. Any suggestions?

Put a different lift on it.

Who installed the lift?
What off set are your wheels?
What size are you tires?
Did you install the front shocks on the lift?
Rancho makes one of the best lifts on the market. I would start looking at the above factors etc.

Tires aren't offset too much, maybe 1" or so. I was told by several mechanics and front end specialists that everything looks fine. I was reading one of the other posts and it sounds like they had the same problem. A leak in the vacuum hose that caused it to try going into 4wd. We'll see.
