Have you pulled the power steering reservoir bracket? it's a big bolt but you don't need to remove it like i did you loosen it about 10 turns and the bracket will tip forward and slide out.
I'm actually just now working on it again. I pulled the cooler today and it's free and clear of debris so I got a new pump and a new steering rack. I didn't get it all installed today (had to attend a wedding), but it should get finished up tomorrow. I failed inspection last weekend because I didn't have power steering, even though I can drive it, park it, and it's not leaking fluid.

Anti Seize the Bolts when you get the new one in and the alignment pins i've heard horror stories of the timing cover cracking and breaking the threaded holes. and then you will be in for more money! I hate inspection time they try what ever they can to get your money so they can do the work. But great job on keeping at it!
