Default power for lights

Where, under the dash, is the easiest place to get 12 volt power that is only on when the key is on? (2006 supercab) I was thinking the power plug on the dash but how the heck do you get to the wiring for that?

i used my trucks 12v power supply thing, its easy just check which wire gives off the power and crimp into that, works great only when the trucks on. your gonna have to take off that panel with all the heat and air controls on it to get to the cig lighter i would go from their and you can tuck w.e wire your using where the factor wires runn.. what are you installing

I took off the cover over the heater controls/stereo, still couldn't get to the wires on the 12V power plug. How does that plug come out or how do you disconnect the wires to it (appears to be a connector on the end but I can't get it off). I can't figure how to get to the wires.
