Default Possibly tranny prob

M having a problem with my 05 150 supercrew. when I'm going 40-50 and start up an incline my truck will start jumping, it doesn't loose power but will shake you to death. You can throttle down a little and it will downshift and be fine. No problems at any other speed. The problem started about a year ago doing it maybe once a week, now it has become pretty regular as my ride to work is hilly. No check engine lights, no idea where to start. Truck has 104,xxx miles if that makes any difference.
Thanks for any help

This is going to sound weird, but I had an issue similar to this. I cleaned my throttle body, replaced my tps, cleaned MAF, and did the reflash at Ford for the new tps. Also, check your ABS module for any rust or corrosion on the pins. Check for any loose pins on the connectors. Clean it up with electronics cleaner and a QTip. Use some dielectric grease on the pins and connectors and slap it back together. Try cleaning your TB and MAF first, also cleaning the pins on the ABS module (it's the module under you air intake hose with the big connector with the gray handle that slides out) if that doesn't help, replace your TPS with a motorcraft one, see if it still bucks and jerks, if so, have the Ford dealership update the pcm. I just went through this for the last month. Shifts smoother and just fine up inclines. I was scared of a rebuild myself.

You have the classic symptoms of a misfire. If you have the original plugs, my bet would be that replacing them would solve it.
Cleaning the throttle body and MAF sensor are good advice no matter what's going with your truck also.

I agree with lewissa81. Replace your plugs if they are original, and it never hurts to clean your MAF and throttle body. Just make sure you use the appropriate cleaners, don't touch the sensors in the MAF, and don't drop stuff in your engine when you remove the tb. I had a similar issue and it was an intermittent misfire.

My does the same thing, mine does it only shifting into overdrive at 40-50 mph going up and incline it jerks and bucks 3-4 times then it stops only does it here and there. I could have swore it was tranny about to let lose. My plugs have been canged. My cop hasn't and haven't cleaned mass air or tb. Ect. Is the tb easy to get to on these trucks?

Throttle body is super easy. And yes, it is electronic. Make sure you use a cleaner specifically for throttle body's. Clean your mass airflow sensor also. Use a different cleaner specifically for that. There are some throttle body cleaners that say they can be used on the MAF, but don't trust it. Spend the extra $5 to make sure you don't have to spend $150 on a new MAF. Do a search for cleaning them, and you'll find detailed instructions.
If you didn't change the boots when you did the plugs, change the boots. Also clean the coil contacts when you change the boot. Corrosion builds up where the boot spring contacts the coil. I use a small paper style fingernail file, and cut it to fit inside the COP.

Gotta change the rubber boots and springs also. You'll only feel the misfire in OD, turn it off and you'll notice it go away. The transmission shop told me when I went in that you feel engine issues easier in OD, don't remember the exact reason. But it's your plugs. It's always between 40-50mph, there's tons of threads about it.
