Poll for manual transmission

I have a 2007 xl manual transmission, and even though I don't tow or haul a whole lot, I really couldn't imagine driving a stick. I'm not sure if it's just that I like the extra amount of control or just that I don't get bored while driving, but it is really what makes my truck my truck.

"2009 F150 Notes:
Here it is, the long anticipated 2009 F150. .... Those hoping to see a diesel included in the 2009 line-up will be disappointed. Additionally, Ford is dropping both the V6 and manual transmission options. While this is bad news for some, power improvements and 3 V8 options, along with the new 6 speed automatic transmission will win over others."

Yep, I would purchase a manual too. Most of your newer 18 wheelers are going automatic transmission too. I think the big idea about that is automatics can tow greater weights.
Want a laugh? get a teenager to try an smoke, drink and send a text message while trying to shift. it put a smile on my face

ive drove nothing but manuals. but do you know what fords reputation would be like if we all had manuals. everybody always slamin gears. sure theyll hold up for a little bit. but its prolly a liability issue. they know how an automatic is going to shift everytime.

I'm going with the Automatic...My reason is I drive a tractor trailer in the city delivering freight. I have to shift so many times I have right elbow pain and the ball of my left foot always bothers me. I look forward to dropping it into "D" for the ride home.

I wish mine had a stick shift sometimes but other times its nice to just throw it in gear and not worry about it.
I hated the auto in my Mustang so much that I had a 5 speed swapped in. I dont see that happening with the truck though.
