Soak them overnight with carb cleaner or similar, do the loosen-tighten technique, go slow and be prepared for some bad sounds (crunching, cracking, squeeking) and have the lisle tool handy. Some guys air tool them right out with no problems. Blow out the area first them vacume if you break any. Piece of garden house taped to a shop vac works. Torque to specs and dialectric grease the new coils. Leave time for this project. I got mine done in one shot and broke a few

How many miles did you're truck have when you bought it? It's hard to believe the plugs are original with 284k which is impressive btw

I don't think I've ever heard of plugs or coils going past 140k on this model, and even that's a stretch.

All of my coils have over 200k.

Yeesh. I'd be scared to change them, I think, but I don't know what truck / engine you have because you don't have a sig.

Around 185k when I bought it 2.5 years ago

i ran 2 cans of seafoam thru 2 tanks of gas and drove it for 30 mins then took them out. no breaks took me 30 mins to change them. i was really worried too.
