I have an 08 lariat with premium sound, I removed the factory head unit and the 8" sub and amp under the back seat. I replaced them with probox dual 8" box and MA amp, eclipse 726e for head unit and ran wires to subs. Still using factory doors. I got wiring harness to plug into factory so I didn't have to cut anything. Problem is, it still acts like a factory unit, turn up volume base goes down, turn up base, loud at low volume, just like a factory unit. wtf! How can that be if im running rcas off the deck to the amp!!

Sorry, I didn't know there is an audio section on here, I saw other post in this section about audio. I figured I was in the right spot for advice.

Someone will probably chime in, most audio gurus lurk around the audio though. Thats strange, that should not be happening when using the RCA's and an after market amp.

Is the "Premium" sound BOSE? If you are going through the factory amp still, which it sounds like you are, I am betting the amp has an eq that controlls this if it doesn't do it itself.

The problem with Bose is if you don't like it, you have to basically replace all of it. You can't really do part of it.
