Default Please Help!

Ok I have a 07 screw with stock rims and tires (255/65r17) I was wondering if i can get the stock rims and tires from the newer f150's (265/60r18) without having to use spacers or mess with flashing computer for wheel size. The wheels have the same width and offset so i don't think i should have any problems but i am not certain. I read on here that somebody tried to go from the newer ones to the older ones and couldn't, so that got me thinking. Can anybody help out? Thank You guys

Well your speedo is going to be reading a little slower than actual

The rule of thumb is to decrease the sidewall by 5 for every inch in diameter so a 255/65 17 would be about the same as a 255/60 18

The same rule applies for increasing tire width so a 255/60 18 is about the same as 265/55 18

So basically you are looking to go from 265/55 18 to 265/60 18 which may change your speedo to read less than 5 mph slower than actual.

Normally speedo read slow from the factory so it may just correct it

BTW stock 06 SCREW 4x4 came with 275/65 18 so even with a 2wd you should have plenty of room. I am pretty sure 04-08 6 lug patterns are all the same sizes

You're going from a tire that calculates out at 30.05" to a tire that calcs.out at 30.5", so the difference is only 1.7%. From the factory, the speedos typically run conservative by about 3-4% so you'll actually be MORE accurate than before and still just a touch on the safe side.No worries. Any factory 6 lug will fit fine and 18's were actually available back to at least '05. My FX4 has them.

Thank you guys. I had an idea but wanted to make sure before I got those rims.
