Very nice. They look good. I'm convinced now that I'll try it. I might put some gloss on it. I think Plasti-Dip makes a gloss coating.

Now how did you cover the faux lug nuts? Just painters tape down in there?

Did you clean with soap and water and the pressure washer?

Here's mine. I used some tape and a razor. I dipped them completely black and use the razor to cut a line an peel everything that I wanted to keep the machined aluminum. I love them. They've held up well, just wish I would have done more coats on each. I only did 2 coats.

Whoa CKing, you really put some time and detail into. Very good job, they look great.

I have the Lariat 20" wheels that have the same center cap as yours. I'll coat the entire wheel in either black or the gun metal gray, but I haven't decided on what do with the center cap. I was contemplating buying the ones with the fake lug nuts made in them, paint it all black except Ford emblem and fake lug nuts. But I'm not completely sure if they are compatible with my rim.

Thanks for the pics and great job.

Here's my wheels:

Thanks, I did put some time into them but I was extremely happy with the results. I've seen a few different combinations on those 20's. have fun with it. It's really easy to touch up or change.

I've plastic dipped my rims and then painted the plastic dip with spray can. Color matched some of my wheels to my truck. Looked dumb but will work if u wanna paint them gloss black. Also a rag dipped in thinner helps take it off and didn't hurt my chrome

I've had my emblems and my front and back bumpers done for almost a year now and I put my truck through some crappy places. Each emblem has about 6 coats on it and I was able to do the front and back Oval and the 3 F150 badges with 5-6 coats getting thicker with each coat in under 1 can. The bumpers I used about a can apiece on because I wanted to make sure that they were covered and it was thick enough to stop rocks and whatever else I may encounter. Rubbing alcohol works amazing to help plati-dip stick. I also did all of mine at night. It doesn't take long for it dry to a tacky consistency. I let the first 2 coats dry to the touch and then every coat after that was sprayed on while it was slightly tacky. If you tape anything off make sure you have a knife handy to cut the plasti-dip away from the tape before you pull it up or you may end up pulling up part of your plasti-dip

Had mine plasti dipped for almost a year and still holding strong. I strongly recommend using the glossifier they sale, regular clear coat can break the plasti dip down and make it a pain to peel off if you ever decide to get rid of it. Here is my rims/truck..

How many cans did it take for 5-6 coats?
Did you guys put the gloss on it afterwards?

Take your time and let it dry before your next coat

The fake lugs and ford emblem on the center cap is 1 piece and then the part I plastidipped is an aluminum cover on top of that. Its just got tabs you bend away and the aluminum cover comes off. And I pressure washed first then cleaned with rubbing alcohol right before I last I dipped the wheels. Soap and water would help too but the alcohol helps clean away any unseen oils to help the plastidip from not sticking or bubbling up.
